Conrail's F50 class was built at the former NYC Despatch Shops right before it closed in 1970.

ORER description: Gondola, steel, cushion underframe, lift off covers, trough type floor, 30" to 84" diameter steel coils, load with first coil in each trough at outboard ends with progressive loading toward center of car and odd coils loaded near center partition when necessary to prevent overloading of trucks, AAR car type code E640, mechanical designation GBSR.

Car is ex PC and is seen here in January 1996. Hood on right has marking on end identifying it for use on F50 class cars.
