Eastern Seaboard Models is coming out with a line of X58 boxcars in a little over a year. ESM owner (and Conrail fan) Bryan Bussey has posted some video of the rapid prototyping samples undergoing testing on the test layout.
These cars promise to be a real boon to N scale Conrail modelers, because the X58 was THE Conrail 50's boxcar.
The first run of these cars should be out in late 2011, but Bryan has told us that the first run will be PRR cars, and that us CR fans will have to wait just a few months later for cars with can openers. Eventually, ESM plans to run many different paint variations on these cars, covering the whole CR era, from 76 through 99.
