CR 7776 wore an unofficial bicentennial paint scheme

Shortly after Conrail was formed, shop crews at Conway Yard devised a special bicentennial scheme that would be applied to GP38 # 7776. When the powers that be in Philadelphia were made aware of this unofficial paintjob, they ordered the unit to be painted into the standard blue scheme. It would probably be safe to bet this was the ONLY Conrail locomotive to receive two repaints so early on in 1976!
