Conrail Non-Revenue 45ft Trailers

Located in Cresson, PA on the Old US 22 highway next to the 84 Lumber are two ex-Conrail trailers.  Through extensive research, it has been established that both of these trailers are ex-Erie Lackawanna.  One is white, the other is light gray.  These trailers were indeed Conrail trailers, but they were not Trailvans.  We suspect they were not used for revenue service beyond their EL years.  The white trailer is in immaculate condition; it is clean with no tagging or marks of any kind.  Its number is CRZ 8178.  The number on the light gray trailer is unknown.  Local sources say that this pair of trailers has sat unmoved for several years (perhaps 5 give or take).  It is nothing short of a miracle these unusual trailers have survived this long beyond their original Conrail ownership.  The unusual paint schemes are also a point of interest.  Steps are currently being taken to learn more about these unusual pieces of equipment.  This trailer (or both) may be a potential candidate(s) for acquistion/restoration.  This investigation is in its early stages, so anyone with info on these trailers, or general info on this class of ex-EL trailers is welcome to post his or her thoughts.

CRZ 8178 and CRZ 8025
