Pennsylvania Power & Light #1 is an 0-6-0F "Fireless Cooker" steam locomotive that was used for moving cars around PP&L's Shamokin Dam PA power plant. It was build by the HK Porter company. This locomotive was removed from service at the power plant in the 1990s.
The Conrail Historical Society Inc does not hold any title to this piece of equipment. While it was, at one point, supposedly donated toward our cause, this process was undertaken without any documentation and therefore without the consent of the board of directors. We therefore do not claim any ownership or possession of the locomotive now, or at any time in the past.
The locomotive is currently in the care of the SEDA-COG, on whose rails it currently resides.
